ZIP archives do a wonderful job of compressing files into a single package. In Windows, you can easily create a ZIP file by selecting some files, right-clicking and going to Send To -> Compressed.
But when you open the ZIP file through Windows, you do not get the option of individually extracting files; Windows automatically extracts the archive. To get more option you need to have a 3rd party compression program installed. WobZIP is a free web service created to unzip ZIP archives. All you do is upload your archive on the site and get the list of files it contains. If the archive is password protected, simply provide the password.
You can then view the list of files and download the one you need.
If you are about to download a large ZIP from the web that contains many files that you do not need, you can pass it through WobZIP and obtain only the files you do need. This can be done through WobZIP’s “Uncompress from a URL” feature. You provide the ZIP file’s URL and its password, in case it is protected by one.
