GPS in cars can help you determine the right way but not the best way. The GPS can lead you right into a traffic jam and cause undesired delays. If only there was a way GPS could be aware of the traffic conditions on all routes. Thanks to Waze, that idea is no longer wishful thinking but a reality.
Waze is a free “social mobile application providing free turn-by-turn navigation based on the live conditions of the road.” Basically Waze is a smartphone app. It has versions for iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile, and Symbian phones. You can install the app on your smartphone and start submitting traffic conditions of your nearby area. Conversely you can get directions from other Waze users to choose the traffic path with the least traffic.
You start using Waze by selecting your country.
Waze will then display the most recent user activity and top Wazers in your area.
You also get a live map displaying how well Waze is covering your area.
Since Waze is a relatively new web service, there is a chance that your country might not have people updating information on Waze. But at least Waze will have you; you can submit information on the traffic condition and develop Waze in your area.
Waze is a brilliant idea. When it is fully developed and has gathered a good number of users, it will surely provide convenience to all drivers.
